Thank you Duchess School Philanthropy Class!

PRHPCS was thrilled that, in June, the Duchess School Youth Philanthropy Class included PRHPCS in their list of 4 community programs they could be interested in supporting.  The class funding comes from CFSEA – Community foundation of South-eastern Alberta.

The Duchess School students – Kayleigh, Madison, Payton, Shelby & Syndey with Teacher Jill Goodheart met with 3 members from PRHPCS to hear our mandate, history, the services we provide and our organizations greatest need.

After hearing from the 4 groups, students selected 2 groups, one being PRHPCS, because it isn’t well know and their services are very important.  “Services are available to people before and after passing and they are all volunteers,’ said one of the students.

Presentation took the form of a luncheon with recipients and the Duchess and Brooks Philanthropy Classes with 2 of our members present to accept their donation.

It is exciting to see CFSEA work with the school students to allow them to learn of community programs and their needs plus make the difficult decision of which group/s to pick for the monies available. Thanks to CFSEA as well.
